Brand and Strategy

We first clarify which problem you solve for whom — then turn that into a visible, sellable and manageable system.

Brand and StrategyPRACTICE

The Brand and Strategy practice merges two legacy practices: BrandMind's advisory and training approach with Marka Studio's execution and design strength. One sets the decision, the other makes it visible. Run separately, brand work stays a slide deck; run together, it connects to growth.

This practice works at two ends. At one end sits the decision: which problem do we solve, for whom, with what promise and what proof. At the other sits the visible form of that decision: identity system, templates, digital assets and campaign language. We keep both in one team to prevent the meaning that gets lost in the handover between them.

Work always begins with diagnosis, and diagnosis is fed from the field: customer interviews, sales team observation, competitor and search analysis. Positioning built without that data is a repetition of internal assumptions. The output is not a document but a decision framework referenced internally and kept alive with a six-monthly compliance review.

Key takeaways

  • Brand strategy is a decision framework, not a visual exercise.
  • Strategy (the BrandMind practice) and delivery (the Marka Studio practice) sit in one team.
  • The quality of positioning is measured by what you give up.
  • An identity project is not finished without templates and training.

07FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are brand strategy and corporate identity the same thing?
No. Brand strategy sets the decision: which problem, for whom, with what promise. Corporate identity is the visual and verbal system for that decision. Starting with identity before strategy is the most expensive mistake we see.
What was the difference between BrandMind and Marka Studio?
BrandMind was the advisory and training practice, Marka Studio the delivery and design practice. In the client's mind the two overlapped. Under Avenra the distinction is preserved explicitly: same team, different steps.
When is the right time for a rebrand?
When your product changed, your audience changed, your sales team tells a different story in every meeting, or you are squeezed into price competition. A feeling that it 'looks dated' is not sufficient reason on its own.
How long does a brand strategy project take?
Diagnosis and research 3–4 weeks, strategy and positioning 4–6 weeks, identity system 6–10 weeks. Training and rollout adds another 4–6 weeks.
